Bee prepared to be amazed by the inner workings of a honey bee colony and what it is like to be a beekeeper. You will put on a beekeeping suit, fire up the smoker, and visit a local apiary where you will learn about apiary management, threats to our honey bees, and discover what it takes to be a beekeeper.
Then lift the lid, pull up a frame and experience an intimate connection with a colony. There you will discover how over 50,000 bees work together to produce honey and hive products. You will smell the rich aromas, hear the gentle buzz and of course taste the purest honey directly from the frame.You will leave with a better understanding and respect for these fascinating creatures.
Tours are capped at 8 people, providing you with the most intimate experience possible and all tours will be led by a professional and knowledgeable beekeeper.
Equipment Required: You will be provided with a protective bee suit and gloves.
Please Bring/Wear: Boots are the best foot-wear, or closed-toe shoes. Clothing for varying weather/ temperatures, water, and a camera or smartphone to take a picture with the bees!
Waiver: All participants must sign a waiver prior to participating. Participants with known bee allergies are excluded.
The bees hate the rain, the event is weather dependent-be prepared for possible cancellation and rescheduling of this experience.
Please choose from our Adult Tours which are two hours long (participants over age 16) and our Family Tours which are 60 minutes long (participants over age 6).
